Challenge
UPS required a high-impact design for its 2009 Annual Report — one that would communicate stability and global reliability during a period of economic uncertainty. The project demanded a premium print presentation consistent with the brand’s corporate heritage while reinforcing trust and leadership among shareholders and investors.
Solution
I designed both the cover and the full narrative section of the report, focusing on clarity, hierarchy, and restrained sophistication. The cover incorporated a spot varnish treatment to highlight key graphic elements, creating depth and texture while elevating the tactile experience. Careful attention to typography and composition ensured the narrative remained accessible and engaging throughout, while aligning with UPS’s brand voice and production standards.
Result
The digital Annual Report delivered an engaging, device-agnostic experience that mirrored the prestige of the printed version while significantly expanding reach and accessibility. The project demonstrated UPS’s commitment to innovation and set a new internal benchmark for future interactive corporate reporting.
